Web 2.0 Challenge(sponsored by IBM) phase I is now closed. Thank you for participating.

Phase II and Phase III are offline events and will be held during Apogee 2010.On campus and only the selected participants are allowed to participate

Rules for phase II and phase III are as follows
Phase II :written test
The second round of the event is on 12th March 2010 from 5PM to 7PM.
Written test will be 30 objective questions with 4 choices.On concepts and technology focus area related to IBM products/services.
Selected Participants from the second round will move to Phase III

Phase III:Stage Event
Third round will be held on 13th March 10 AM to 12PM
As part of part I of Phase III, To begin with, the 5 finalists will be handed over the 3case studies which they can read and decide to solve one of them
The students could use laptops or overhead slides to develop their presentation for the solution. They may also chose to use white board/marker to do so.
The students will be given 30 minutes to understand and develop the solution
The judges will evaluate the presentations based on following criteria:
1.Innovation - 10 points
2.Technical knowledge depth/breadth/understanding of the problem - 10 points
3.Presentation skills - 10 points
Part II of the phase III will be quick fire round of 30 questions - These is test of knowledge rather than application of skills and on general a topic on the technology picked.



An online technical quiz digging into the Web 2.0 phenomenon. Find out how well you can tweet, poke or digg out hottest trends and other information from social networking sites, google and other sites. In the online Phase, 30 Hours for 30 questions on Web 2.0 and Rich Internet Applications (RIA), can you beat the clock..?

 

The event is spread into three phases, the first of which starts on 7th March 2010. Win the contest and walk away with a Lenovo Ideapad Laptop. Other prizes are:

2GB Apple iPod (1st Runners up)

1 MP4 Player (2nd Runners up)

...and lots more will follow during the event in the form of freebies :)

Rules –

  • To participate in the event, you have to register yourself at the APOGEE website.
  • The event would be held in three phases.
  • The first phase(online) will commence from 7th March, 5 p.m. and continue till 8th March,11 p.m.

  • After the screening in the first phase, 50 people will be selected for the second phase which will be held here on campus during APOGEE 2010 amongst those who cleared the 1st phase. 
  • The 5 finalists will then compete in the third phase.
  • Each participant is allowed to login muliple time with his/her login id/password. The question will resume from the one which you left it at.Multiple entries or any other malpractice will lead to disqualification.
  • The quiz will contain 30 questions -objective/subjective, to be completed within the stipulated timeframe (30 hours).
  • Participants are advised to be sure of their answer before submitting as only the first entry will be considered.
  • In case of a tie, due weightage will be given to the time of submission.
  • Successful participants will then proceed to the second phase which would be held on campus during APOGEE 2010.

  • Decision of the evaluation committee will be final and binding.
  • Only single participants are allowed in the contest.
