The Aim of this workshop is to enlighten the role and contribution of Quantum physics theories to Modern day communication techniques. Quantum information science concerns information science that depends on quantum effects in physics. It includes theoretical issues in computational models as well as more experimental topics in quantum physics including what can and cannot be done with quantum information. In quantum mechanics, quantum information is physical information that is held in the "state" of a quantum system in units known as Qubits.

Astro Workshop

Astro Workshop 2010 promises to be a bag full of surprises. With a record breaking events for World Space week 2009 the bi-annual workshop is surely a must for anyone who has ever gazed at the enigmatic night sky.

The 4 day workshop includes a plethora of events which includes night sky watching sessions, invited lectures by renowned astronomers and a chance to capture the amazing Pilani night sky in our astrophotography sessions.

Junkyard Wars

in

Junkyard Wars was first inspired by the TV series “Apollo 13”, in which astronauts had to carry out in-mission repairs using only the available materials. Here, we attempt to put you in the same position and test your improvisation and creative skills. The participant teams are given access to a junkyard and the facilities of the workshop, and are required to build a machine in a given amount of time. However, this event also requires a sound understanding of basic theoretical principles of mechanical engineering. As such, the competition involves 3 rounds:
